Jessie is Disney channel’s first television series to focus on a girl. Jessie Prescott, an 18 year old girl decides to move from Texas to New York, and becomes a nanny to four children (Luke, Ravi, Zuri, and Emma). The first episode was shown on Disney channel on September 30th 2011, with the second episode premiering on March 5th 2012. The list below contains the title and a brief overview of each of the first six episodes of season one.
- New York, New Nanny:
Jessie goes to New York City to follow her dreams, and finds a job opportunity at the Ross’ condominium. She meets a girl named Zuri, who asks Jessie to be her nanny after Kate left. She refuses at first, but later accepts the job after getting to know the children, their adoptive parents and their butler, Bertram. After Jessie fails to keep up with the children, they attempt to flee, but Jesse brings all of them back, except for Emma. Emma’s parents attend an engineering fair and Emma where she wins the fair. As a result, Jessie keeps her job as nanny.
- The Talented Mr. Kipling:
When the condominium owner, Mrs. Chesterfield wants to have Mr. Kipling, Ravi’s pet lizard to be removed from the building, Jessie comes to Ravi’s aid. After a failed attempt to smuggle Mr. Kipling away from the grasps of Animal Control, Mr. Kipling saves Mrs. Chesterfield’s own pet, a dog named Zeus. Mrs. Chesterfield realizes that she would hate to have lost her pet, so she lets Ravi keep Mr. Kipling in the building.
- Used Karma:
When Jessie accepts a lunch invitation from the building’s doorman Tony, Emma gives her love advice that she read out of a magazine. Ravi gets sick of being the butt of Luke’s jokes and decides to threaten Luke that he will soon have the same bad luck if he doesn’t stop.
- Zombie Tea party 5:
When Jessie ends up embarrassing Luke about a bully, Luke tells Jesse that he doesn’t want her to help him anymore. When he later faces off with Luke in a game of paintball, Luke finds that he can’t win if his only helper is Ravi. Jessie proves herself as a paint-baller to Luke, and he decides to accept her help when it comes to paintball competitions. At the same time, Zuri throws a tea party, and invites Emma, but she decides to go to a fashion show with her friend Jasmine. When Emma gets un-invited, she goes to Zuri’s tea party.
- One day Wonders:
Luke and Jessie fight over the spotlight of a music and dance performance they created, because a music producer noticed them. Meanwhile, Zuri and Ravi take over Tony’s job to show that his job is easier than he says it is.
- Zuri’s new old friend:
Kipling falls in love with a dinosaur at the park, so Ravi, Emma, and Luke try to take it without Ranger Bill, the security guard, noticing. Jessie worried about Zuri having so many (and only) imaginary friends. Jessie gets Zuri to make friends with Nana Banana, a former clown. Eventually, Jessie decides that the strange Nana Banana is just about as strange for Zuri to hang around with as an imaginary friend.
These are the first six episodes of “Jessie”. There are 26 episodes of season one, and 41 total episodes by the end of season two.
